SprayConeAI®

SprayConeAI® is a measurement method for analyzing the geometrical distribution of droplets within a spray cone. The first scientific foundation of this approach was published in 2016 [1], where the concept of a so-called spray matrix was introduced.

The spray matrix is generated using a TSTOF measurement device [2], which determines droplet size, droplet velocity, and droplet number density at spatially resolved positions within the spray. By continuously traversing the spray nozzle relative to the measurement volume, the entire spray cone can be systematically characterized. This approach enables a detailed mapping of droplet properties throughout the spray field.

The measurement results obtained with the classical spray cone analysis based on the TSTOF method are directly comparable with scanned and analyzed painted foils. This allows a clear correlation between measured spray characteristics and the resulting coating distribution.

SprayConeAI® additionally provides optional tools for analyzing scanned transparent foils. These tools enable the calculation of coating thickness distribution and spray cone geometry, further strengthening the link between droplet dynamics and final coating performance.

SprayConeAI® is currently under continuous development. Follow our YouTube channel to stay up to date with the latest advancements and experimental demonstrations.
