SprayConeAI® is now officially registered as a trademark in Germany.
I recently received the registration certificate from the German Patent and Trademark Office confirming the protection of the SprayConeAI name. For us, this is another important step in the development of SprayConeAI from a technical idea into a scalable web-based solution for spray analysis.
What is SprayConeAI?
SprayConeAI is a web-based tool for analyzing spray cones and spray patterns.
The basic idea is simple: users should be able to analyze spray images directly using a smartphone, tablet, iPad, or standard web browser without requiring a complex measurement system.
This can be especially interesting for companies working with:
- spray nozzles
- automotive refinishing
- paint spraying
- coating technology
- spray gun development
- industrial spray processes
- quality control of spray patterns
For many of these companies, the visual evaluation of spray patterns is already part of their daily work.
SprayConeAI aims to make this process easier, more accessible, and increasingly digital.

Why Register the SprayConeAI Trademark?
When developing a new product or web-based technology, the technical concept is only one part of the project.
The name of the technology can also become an important asset.
If a new idea is intended to become a commercial product or a scalable business, protecting the product name at an early stage can be an important step.
The registration of SprayConeAI® therefore represents more than just the protection of a name. It is part of the broader strategy to establish SprayConeAI as a recognizable solution for digital spray analysis.
From Spray Measurement to Web-Based Spray Analysis
Traditional spray characterization often requires specialized measurement equipment.
With SprayConeAI, we are exploring another approach.
Instead of always using dedicated laboratory instrumentation, spray images can be analyzed through a web-based interface. Depending on the application, images can be recorded using devices that are already available, such as smartphones or tablets.
This makes the concept potentially scalable because the software can be accessed without installing a complete measurement system at every location.
The long-term question is therefore not only technical:
Can spray analysis become a scalable web-based business?
SprayConeAI at Bits & Pretzels 2026
In September 2026, I will present and discuss SprayConeAI at Bits & Pretzels in Munich.
https://www.bitsandpretzels.com
For me, this event is an opportunity to discuss not only the technology but also the business model behind it.
The technical idea already exists. The next challenge is to understand how SprayConeAI can develop from an open and accessible spray-analysis concept into a commercially sustainable and scalable solution.
Important questions include:
How should such a web tool be offered to industrial users?
Which functions are most valuable for companies analyzing spray patterns every day?
Which parts of the platform should remain openly accessible?
And which advanced functions could form the basis of a professional commercial version?
These are exactly the questions we want to explore further.
Who Could Use SprayConeAI?
Potential users include spray nozzle manufacturers, paint companies, automotive refinishing businesses, coating-system suppliers, spray gun manufacturers, research laboratories, and production companies working with atomization processes.
The use cases can range from simple visual spray-pattern documentation to comparative analysis, quality control, development work, and potentially automated evaluation of spray geometries.
Because SprayConeAI is web-based, the same basic platform could potentially be used across many industries and locations.
The Next Step
The trademark registration is one more step in the development of SprayConeAI.
Now the focus is on improving the technology, understanding user requirements, and developing a sustainable business model around web-based spray analysis.
The next months will show how far this concept can go.
We will continue testing new functions, discussing the technology with industrial users and strategic partners, and presenting SprayConeAI at upcoming events.
