LSS1 is a compact single-channel optical measurement probe for droplet and particle characterization. It is used with SprayQuantAI® SQA1 and ParticleTensorAI® PTA1.
The physical probe hardware is identical for both systems. Whether the measurement system operates as SQA1 or PTA1 is determined by the signal acquisition concept, firmware, and evaluation software used in the connected ZEON control unit.

Compatible Systems
LSS1 is operated together with the ZEON control unit. The same optical probe can therefore be used with two different measurement concepts.

Single-Channel Measurement
LSS1 uses one active detector channel and represents the most compact optical configuration within the LSS probe family. The time-resolved signal from this channel contains information about the interaction of an individual droplet or particle with the shaped illumination field.
In SprayQuantAI® SQA1, the signal is evaluated on an individual-event basis. Particle or droplet properties can be determined using classical signal-processing methods or AI-based evaluation, depending on the configured measurement method.
In ParticleTensorAI® PTA1, the same detector signal is continuously recorded and combined over a defined acquisition interval. The resulting buffered signal data are processed using the ParticleTensorAI® approach to characterize the particle population, spray behaviour, or material-related properties.
