ai-quanton develops and manufactures optical measurement systems for characterizing droplets and particles in flow. The systems are designed for sprays, particle-laden flows, and the monitoring of ongoing industrial processes.

All products are based on the same fundamental physical principle: when a droplet or particle passes through a specifically shaped light beam, the spatial intensity distribution of the light is transformed into a time-dependent scattered-light signal. The temporal structure of this signal contains information about the properties of the particle.

Depending on the measurement system and configuration, this information can be used to determine:

  • droplet or particle size,
  • velocity,
  • particle number and concentration,
  • spray and process stability, and
  • material-related and optical properties.

A key advantage of this approach is that the measurement information is primarily derived from the temporal structure of the optical signals. Time is one of the physical quantities that can be measured with very high precision. This makes the technology suitable not only for scientific investigations in the laboratory, but also for robust measurements and continuous monitoring in industrial environments.

Based on this common technological platform, ai-quanton provides different measurement systems for a wide range of applications — from compact AI-based spray measurement systems and advanced material characterization to classical multi-detector systems for research and development.
